FOR LAW FIRMS

A sealed AI machine inside your firm.

Staff put documents into it that they could never put into ChatGPT. Client files never leave the building. Installed in a day, owned outright.

THE PROBLEM

01

PRIVILEGED.

Client confidences are barred from the public AI tools. Model Rule 1.6 requires reasonable efforts against unauthorized disclosure, and ABA Formal Opinion 512 requires a client's informed consent before representation information enters a self-learning AI tool. State bars have followed with their own guidance, Texas Opinion 705 among them.

02

SHADOW USE.

In Clio's 2025 report, 79 percent of legal professionals use AI, and in AffiniPay's, individual use is rising while firm-level adoption falls, 24 percent to 21. Lawyers adopt faster than firms sanction. The fix is a sanctioned tool on the firm's own network.

03

SANCTIONS.

Fabricated citations draw real sanctions: $5,000 in the 2023 ChatGPT case that started it, and $15,000 per lawyer from the Sixth Circuit in March 2026. The danger is secret use that skips review. A sanctioned tool keeps drafts inside the firm, where your checks can reach them.

TWO SCENARIOS

Thursday, 6:40 PM.

The deposition ran long and the summary is due tomorrow. An associate has four hundred pages of transcript, a folder of exhibits, and a browser tab where a free chatbot would finish the first pass in twenty minutes. Rule 1.6 says those pages cannot go there. The deadline does not read Rule 1.6.

With a Node in the server closet, the sanctioned tool is the fast tool. The transcript goes into a machine on the firm’s own network, the summary and the exhibit index come back, and the associate leaves before nine. Privilege never left the building.

Monday, 9:05 AM.

Six leases, one question: which still carry the escalation clause the client wants gone. Someone asks the machine for a tool that reads all six and prints the table. Twenty minutes later it sits on the shared drive and works. Nobody wrote a requisition, and the person who asked is not a programmer.

The fastest tool in the firm should be one the firm can answer for.

THE CARRIER

Your insurer is already asking.

In June 2026, EPIC’s sixteenth annual survey of thirteen legal malpractice insurers recorded the shift: seven of the thirteen reported an increase in AI-related claims, the first year the answer was yes, while 69 percent of legal professionals use generative tools. At least one carrier’s application form asks in writing:

“Allow the use of Artificial Intelligence software to draft documents. If checked, please attach description.”

AMTRUST LPL APPLICATION, FORM LPLPRO-APP-01

A firm with a Node checks the box and attaches one sentence: the drafting happens on a sealed machine inside the firm, and client files never leave it.

THE NODE

A sealed machine on your own network, configured and maintained by Splay inside your firm. Staff use it to draft and compare agreements, summarize depositions and discovery, write the small tools nobody budgets for, and search every matter file you could never upload.

It needs no cloud account and no internet connection, and nobody pays per seat. We maintain the machine without ever holding your files. The whole setup is written down, step by step; any competent IT shop could run it without us.

NOT A CHATBOT

The free tools taught everyone that AI answers questions. A Node runs the same kind of AI behind the big-name tools, on your own floor, and it produces finished work.

WORKING SOFTWARE

Scripts, small tools, whole programs. Staff describe the tool in plain English and run what comes back.

WEB PAGES

An intranet page, a form, a working dashboard, from a paragraph of description.

THE DOCUMENTS THAT WIN WORK

Proposal sections, compliance matrices, SOPs, contract-clause reviews, in your own templates.

DRAWINGS AND PHOTOS

With a vision cartridge loaded, staff show it scanned prints and pictures of parts.

Every Node does all of this; the bigger machines do it with stronger hands. The pilot exists so you can watch it happen on your own problems.

THE MACHINES

Five machines and a bespoke build, priced flat and in public. Each one is sealed: no path out to the internet, serving your staff over your own network, with the strongest open model that fits its memory. The drawings are illustrations; the hardware is listed on each card.

The ladder is one design at five sizes, and the small machines grow into the big ones: a second Spark and one cable turn a NODE 01 into a NODE 02, and two more turn it into a NODE 03. Nothing is replaced and nothing is migrated; the machine you bought becomes part of the machine you upgrade to, and what you paid counts in full against the price. Past the Sparks, the bigger machines share the same network and the same work, and upgrades into them are credited by quote. NODE 03 itself runs two ways: linked into one machine carrying GLM-5.2 for a small team that wants the strongest model, or split into four Sparks serving up to sixty staff on the smaller models.

NODE 03 and NODE 04 differ on speed, not intelligence. The Sparks are a highway with many lanes and a low speed limit: they carry a whole office, unhurried. The Blackwell machines are a race track with one lane and no limit: a Spark moves memory at 273 gigabytes a second, and each of NODE 04's four cards moves it at 1,792. NODE 04 runs GLM-5.2 too when you want the strongest model; its card names MiniMax-M3 because that pairing feels instant. If your staff sit waiting on answers, the wait is what NODE 04 removes.

NODE XBUILT TO ORDER

The ladder covers most offices. When it does not cover yours, we build to order: memory, speed, and models sized to your work, quoted in writing after a call.

Intelligence: the strongest closed model = 100, on the Artificial Analysis index, JULY 2026. Raw scores 38, 40, 51, 44, 51 against the frontier's 60. On trackingai.org's offline Mensa-style IQ test, frontier models measure 129 to 136, and GLM-5.2, the NODE 03 and 09 model, measures 123; the other flagships have no published score. The model inside swaps like a cartridge; no model can send anything out either way. The purchase is one order a managing partner can sign: nothing meters and nobody pays per seat. Spark machines upgrade by joining, and what you paid credits in full from NODE 01 through 03; upgrades into 04 and 09 credit by quote. NODE 04 and 09 are built to order: 50% deposit, quotes hold 30 days. Care is flat per machine, adjusting up to 5% annually. Prices as of July 22, 2026, subject to change.

Pick a model. See where it lands.

Published open models against the machines. The verdict is arithmetic over each model’s published size and each machine’s installed memory, nothing else. The flag is the developer’s home country.

HOW IT WORKS

The call.

20 minutes. You talk, we scope. No slides.

The survey.

A readiness survey at your facility. $2,400, credited in full against any machine.

The pilot.

A pilot machine on your bench for 30 days. $2,000, credited in full. Then you decide.

A fleet of four pilot machines exists. Every machine is a copy of one documented setup, with a step-by-step manual; any competent IT shop could run it without us.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Will it make up citations?

Any model can, and the dedicated legal tools are not immune: Stanford's 2024 benchmark measured hallucination rates of 17 to 34 percent in the leading AI research products. The duty to check authority stays with the lawyer, on every tool. What a Node changes is where the work happens: drafts and client files stay inside the firm.

Do we need client consent to use it?

ABA Opinion 512 requires informed consent before representation information enters a self-learning AI tool. A Node is not self-learning and sends nothing to a third party. Whether your engagement letters need a line about it is a question for your ethics counsel; we put the machine's architecture in writing for that conversation.

Can it actually write software?

Yes. Staff describe a tool in plain English and the machine writes the code; small tools and scripts come back in minutes and run on your own network. It is not a replacement for your software vendor on big systems: it is closer to a very fast junior developer. The pilot exists so you can test it on your own problems.

Who runs it after the install?

Your IT does, with our manual. Every machine is a copy of one documented setup. If you would rather we watch it, managed care starts at $600 a month and year one is included with every machine.

What happens if Splay disappears?

You own the machine outright, and the whole setup is written down, step by step. Any competent IT shop could run it without us.

Can we try it before we buy it?

A pilot machine sits on your bench for 30 days for $2,000, credited in full against any machine. So is the $2,400 readiness survey.

What does it cost to add a seat?

$0. The machine is the cost. NODE 01 serves 1 to 15 staff; when you outgrow a machine you buy the next machine, not the next license.

How many people can use it at once?

Everyone gets their own chat over your network; nobody shares a screen. What limits a machine is how many answers it is writing at the same instant. NODE 01 is bench-measured at ten simultaneous conversations, and an office of fifteen rarely has five going at once. The bigger machines carry more, and we size each person's working room at install so the machine stays quick. The serves range on each card is that sizing, done conservatively.

What happens when we outgrow it?

You grow the machine. The Spark machines join by one network cable: a second Spark turns a NODE 01 into a NODE 02, four make a NODE 03, and what you paid is credited in full against the upgrade. Upgrades into the bigger machines are credited by quote. No machine on the ladder is a dead end.

Do you see our data?

No. The machine has no path out to the internet, and your files stay in your building. Custom models are tuned and tested on your hardware, and support visits happen on-site, at the rate on the card.

Why are your prices public?

Because a buyer who checks must find every figure where we said it would be. The intelligence numbers come from a public index with the raw scores printed in the footnote, and every price carries its edition date: July 22, 2026.
